Finding a QDRO in the Cabinet of Curiosities

So, late to the party, I've been watching Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. Generally disappointing, so I didn't miss much - but I have made it to "Outside", which actually is pretty good.

Of course, sad as what I'm about to say may be, I noticed and focused upon the implicit QDRO reference early in the episode.  It happens when Kylee Evans' Gina says (emphasis added): "I'm gonna take the house, HALF HIS RETIREMENT, and he is gonna be eating frozen dinners and Viagra trying to keep up with his new girlfriend."  I feel like there may be something wrong with me.  To wit, I'm not sure too many people watched this episode and immediately homed in on the QDRO angle.  Ahh, then again - everyone's just jealous regarding my ability to get right to the good stuff.*

* While I'm at it, several other random observations about the episode:

- Kate Micucci's Stacey (who, for me, eerily channeled the late Shelley Duvall) drives an . . . AMC Gremlin!  When the car first came out, I, as a pre-teen, felt it was ahead of its time.  While the car was widely ridiculed in the extreme, I believe, based on what ensued with automobile configurations, that my view has ultimately been vindicated.

- [SPOILER ALERT (read no farther if you want to avoid a bit of a reveal)]  The movie has two (yes, two) versions of Hot Chocolate's wonderful You Sexy Thing, one by Caleb Hawley and the other by Zella Day.  Indeed, the episode is in many ways built around the dueling versions of this so-very-fun song.  I saw this trick used in the spectacular remake of Dawn of the Dead, and previously discussed the approach here.  [minor SPOILER ALERT for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice]  And, just the other day, I saw the trick used yet again, in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with the hilarious (but oddly classic) MacArthur Park.

- [SPOILER ALERT (read no farther if you want to avoid a bit of a reveal]  The ad that came up when I paused the show was for Dove Holiday Treats, which, according to the ad, "smell[] good enough to eat".  Incredibly ironic ad placement, I'd say (unless it was intentional, in which case it's genius).
